The six reasons car AC blows warm
1.A refrigerant leak
The most common story. Your AC is a sealed loop, so the refrigerant level should never drop; when it does, something is leaking, often at a seal, O-ring, or the condenser itself. The system cools worse and worse as the charge falls, and Texas heat exposes the weakness first. Finding the leak is the job; the refrigerant is just the refill afterward.
2.A tired compressor
The pump that drives the whole loop, and the hardest-working part on the hottest days. A compressor that's failing may cycle strangely, rattle, or quit when the engine bay is at its hottest, which in Allen means about 4pm in a parking lot. 3.A condenser that can't breathe

6.A blend door stuck warm
Inside the dash, a small door mixes hot and cold air to hit your chosen temperature. When its actuator fails, you can get heat on one side and cool on the other, or warm air no matter what the dial says. Usually announced by a soft clicking behind the dash; confirmed by diagnosis, not guesswork.
What you can check in the driveway
- The settings, honestly. Recirculation on, temperature full cold, AC button actually engaged. It sounds silly until it's the answer, and it's the answer more often than anyone admits.
- The cabin air filter. Usually behind the glovebox, and your owner's manual shows the way. If it looks like a lint trap, that's airflow you're missing.
- The condenser face. Look through the front grille. A layer of bugs, leaves, or a stray plastic bag on the fins means the system can't dump heat, and a gentle cleanup may bring cooling back.

Why morning-cold, afternoon-warm is a clue

- Often an airflow or heat-load story: at idle there's no ram air through the condenser, so a weak fan, a dirty condenser, or a low charge shows up at stoplights first. It's a classic pattern, and worth mentioning when you book.
- Is my AC just low on freon?
- Maybe, and if it is, that's a symptom rather than the problem. The system is sealed, so a low charge means refrigerant is escaping somewhere. We find the leak, fix it, then recharge to spec, in that order.
